I studied at the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and obtained a degree in acupuncture. Since that time I have continued to attend further specialist courses in order to enhance and develope my knowledge. I am a fully insured member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) and am regulated and bound by their exemplary standards as detailed in the BAcC Code of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct. I am also a member of Comestic Acupuncture UK.

My Story

I first became interested in acupuncture when my mother decided to have a career change and go back to university to study it. She would ask me to help her study. I soon became fascinated by the theory behind acupuncture and the concept of Qi. I loved that it aimed to treat the mind and spirit and not just the physical body as is the way in western medicine. Being holistic in my lifestyle it resonanted with me.

Years passed and I continued working as a solicitor whilst also receiving acupuncture treatments myself - it had the most profound effect in respect of my own health issues. In 2008 I decided to go to India to study yoga and to train to be a yoga teacher (Sivananda lineage). During the training we focussed a lot on breath work (prana-yama). These were powerful exercises which boosted my sense of well being, my energy levels and completely calmed my mind. Prana is a sanskirt word for LIFE FORCE. The Chinese word for this life force is Qi.

I am also a practising solicitor and specialise in mental health and incapacity law. I am very passionate about this role as supporting and ensuring the human rights of those who are vulnerable is hugely important to me. My experiences and role as a mental health solicitor and yoga teacher have truly enhanced my ability to communicate with and be intuitive to the needs of others. These skills are brought to my acupuncture practice.
